Paul Kent has quit his role at Sydney radio station Triple M after refusing to apologize for an incident where colleague Anthony Maroon stormed off the set during a recent programme.
Maroon, who hosts Triple M’s NRL weekend program in Sydney, left the show mid-show after being bombarded with questions about allegedly taking money jobs on the side.

After revealing that he had asked his colleagues on numerous occasions to stop making jokes at his expense, Maroon spectacularly left the set, leaving Kent to host the program.

Maroon insisted his peers’ ribs had “gone too far,” with Kent’s exit from the station focusing on a “different perspective” on the controversy.
Kent was asked by the station to apologize for the incident, but after refusing, made the decision to cut ties with the station.
“Triple M Sydney confirms that Paul Kent has left the Sunday Sin Bin Show,” a spokesman for Triple M Sydney said in a statement.
“The events of the last few weeks surrounding the Sin Bin incident have gone too far and we have asked Paul Kent to apologize. Paul sees things differently and based on that, made the decision to part ways with Triple M.

“Triple M has asked me to apologize for the incidents that have taken place over the past few weeks,” Kent said in a statement.

“I just want to say a big thank you to everyone in the audience who bothered to stop me on the street for their support and wish me well.
